One of the best mid-level receivers on the market that I have been watching to buy, Sony STRDN1080 on Sale at Amazon sold through DataVision Computer Video and Beach Camera. Not sold by Amazon so Best Buy will not price match it.. I tried... Goodluck!

You cannot get Hi-Res Audio at a lower price. If you are into DFF and DSF, buy it now!

In for 1, thanks OP.

It's been a toss-up for me between the Denon X2400H and the Yamaha TSR-7810.

I feel like Denon has the firmest foot in the AVR space and are wicked-easy to setup.
I've heard Yamahas have the best build quality and they do have the Costco warranty which is awesome.
The Sony seems to be the most feature-packed and cleanest looking and had the best reviews according to CNET.

Regardless, we're within 90 days from Black Friday so Purchase Protection with CSR should cover any possible price changes.

It's coming down because the newer models are on the way. Amazon has some 'iffy' reviews. I have the 1060 and love it, except it won't pass 4k Video. The 1080 does. I'd consider it, but want to see what the newer one has for bells & whistles.

What I'd like to see is them add chrome cast video support. The audio support works well in this model..

I returned a Yamaha RX-V681BL to Best Buy and I ended up getting the Denon X2400H from Fry's last week. I'm not sure what the differences are between the 681 and the 7810 but I'm guessing they're similar. The biggest difference I noticed between the Yamaha 681 and the Denon is that the Yamaha seemed to have a littler more girth when it came to bass and the lows. I also think that the Denon is a little more complicated to use when it comes to general use with the remote. All in all the Denon retails for $800 versus the $600 retail tag on the Yamaha 681 so I'm hoping that I am getting a little better sound/receiver.

I got lucky and found a Sony STRDH550 for $50 at Walmart. YMMV

This is 5.2 without all the bells and whistles, but it's slick.
