Unlocked Nokia 6 LTE phone - latest Andoid 7.1.1 Nougat $229

Just got my Nokia 6 phone from Amazon (newegg on Ebay has the same price but has $7.35 shipping). The 5.5 IPS LCD screen looks amazingly bright and the Dolby Atmos sound is great. I love these new Nokia series which has pure Android (no bloatware and get all updates from Google). The fingerprint sensor works just as iPhone and has all the other sensors: Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, Hall sensor, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, NFC (sharing).

2 days of use and battery still going strong at above 40%.

I don't get phone from work ... and so not going to spend $700 + taxes for iPhone 8 or that Samsung new Galaxy.

This is why it is not a good deal
  • It has a lower end SD430 processor -- Low end price, low end processor
  • The overall rating is 3.8 star -- This "rating" means nothing
  • Only for GSM. Can't be used on Verizon/Sprint -- Which doesn't prevent this from being a good deal for GSM users
  • G5+ is better deal than this -- Not really
  • If you can wait, Honor 7x will kill both G5+ and this phone: Honor 7x Announced [androidauthority.com]
-- There's no timeline for release, or even if it will be released in the US

At a price of $229 ... this is a killer phone. Read the specs:
Primary camera 16MP PDAF, 1.0um, f/2, dual tone flash
Front-facing camera 8MP AF, 1.12um, f/2, FOV 84 degrees

Size and type 5.5" IPS LCD
Pixel density 403 ppi
Brightness 450 nits, laminated
Features Sunlight readability

Before this, I had iPhone 6+ and the screen cracked after a soft drop (even though it was in a case and I managed to have get my shoe to break the fall). Never again!

Cons,
1) Severe lack of quality protective cases for this model.
2) No USB C Charging, And also no rapid or wireless charging.
3) Low output volume on speaker phone mode.
4) My Nexus 6 (phone is over 3 years old, but cost $600 when new) tests out faster on antutu for 3d gaming. For me no problem but for gamers could be a problem. Could be due to testing software not utilizing all 8 cores.
5) If you use dual sim you cannot expand the 32GB memory, its one or the other.

my motos fingerprint sensors have been the best (moto z, z play, and even moto e4, comparing them to iphone 6s and galaxy s7 and pixel (havent been able to compare them with s8 or iphone 7)

I haven't seen Nokia phones for a long time. Still remember having the Nokia phones with single tone rings....my first cell phone. The N Gage was the good shit those days...couple of MB internal memory. Come a long way....

Wish the g5 had the latest android version. sucks that you got to keep up with the latest and greatest to get the updates.

No verizon support, sad. Especially when all the amazon unlocked motorola phones support it too.

Don't want to sound like a hater or anything, but isn't this the regular price for the non-Amazon ads version? I mean I'd love to get the Nokia 6 as my next phone and its a great value, but there's no deal going on here.

Hasn't it been this price since it came out on Amazon?
