Shop-Vac Hangon 1.5 Gal 2.0 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vac for $23.48 or less (Walmart/Jet)

Walmart has the Shop-Van 'Hangon' 1.5 Gallon 2.0 Peak HP Wet/Dry Vacuum [walmart.com] for $23.48. It doesn't appear to be available in stores, but shipping is $5.99 or free if order total is above $35, and store pickup is also free.

Jet (which is technically owned by Walmart) also has the Shop Vac Hangon 1.5 Gal / Peak 2.0 HP [jet.com] for $23.48. I'm not sure on effective promo codes, but the usual small savings for paying via debit card and opting out of free returns apply.

This is $1.49 (6%) off of Walmart's regular price of $24.97 (which was already substantially better); however, there are few small shop vacuums in this price range, and this is a Shop Vac brand with that appears to have generally good reviews on Walmart.com. It's small, but appears to be good for workbench use. (I agree, 6%/ $1.49 isn't impressive, but the more important factor IMO is that while there are a lot of good deals on mid-to-large shop vacs, there are very few small ones. Amazon, for example, a cursory search for a small one (I live in an apartment and don't need a big one) yielded a similar Shop Vac brand [amazon.com] for $42.99 and off-brands in the low $30s)

Features:
- 1.5 Gallon Tank
- Peak 2.0 HP Motor (reviews say the suction is solid)
- Includes a wall-mounting bracket (and appears to include other accessories as well)

You may also want to check a Walmart inventory checker (like BrickSeek) for the SKU, 55042491. There are none in stock in any store in Northern Viriginia, but some had it marked as low as $5 (whether or not any were available at this price is another story).

Just a guess in the TD - this deal doesn't pass the Burrito Test*

* ( If the savings are less than the cost of a Chipotle burrito, then the deal isn't worth discussing or taking advantage of.)

Just a note on small wet/dry shop vacs - I bought two a few years ago for $12@. Lowes, HD ??

But anyways - besides using them for "normal" use I found they are an EXCELLENT tool for drywall sanding. I extend the incoming orifice with a tube that just about reaches the bottom of the inside, discard the filter, put in a few inches of water. Then hook up the suction side to my hand held rotary sander which comes with a bag.
The drywall dust is sucked through the water like a hookah and forms mud on the bottom.

I mean, if something is $10, a chipotle burrito discount would drop it to $2. That's a pretty good discount...

I'm aware you can get large cheap shop vacs - for example, I saw a Husky Brand 4 gallon 3.5 HP one from April in my search. Mind you, I saw no active shop vac deals period when I posted. As for 6% - again, even the regular price seems solid for this size, which is much smaller to store: the problem with an 8 gallon shop vac is that it, by definition, carries a tank with a volume of 8 gallons.

That being said, not everyone wants/needs a large one. The large ones are very convenient for, say, a leaky fishtank over a weekend. But, if you don't need or have space for a big one - if the worst situation you have might be spilling a gallon of milk or a 2L of pop (aka soda), or if you just want a vacuum for cleaning up after, say, minor drilling - a small one makes sense.

And, just like other vacuums, cell phones, TVs, clothing, lots of things - sometimes you need a small one. Just because 3x shirts are the same price as smalls at a store doesn't mean you buy 3x even though you wear a medium.

Hmm, wait, that might be a better post. "If you buy 3 3x shirts and reassemble them to your size, you might be able to get 5 or 6 shirts from the material - that's 40-50% off!" laugh out loud

Your math seems off. $5 from $10 isn't 2, but I digress.

For an apples to apples comparison, if your $10 item was discounted 6% - just like the OP's stating, the final price would be $9.40 - again, an not exactly a post-worthy 'deal' or savings.

Eh, the Chipotle Burritos around me are usually a lot closer to $8 after tax (no addons). And OP made a point to mention the dollar amount (ish), not a percentage, so I addressed that.
