Thank you.. I was looking for this just last night. This is like a repeated deal on Costco, I have not seen the price go down further than that so far on this particular package. I got six installed in/out of my property and the battery life have been amazing so far. With a spare battery in the box, this deal practically gets sweeter.

What is the exact issue do you face ?

What are other equivalent functionality options at a 'better' price ?

my biggest concern is people can snatch these off easily. are there any mounting solutions that secures the cameras via screws? my main router is on the 2nd fl, when i'm standing right in front of my door on the outside, my phone, s8+, doesn't connect to the wifi, so i'll probably need to buy one of those plug-in wifi extender?

btw, when is the next version of arlo pro with perhaps 1080p coming out?

ID spec distance and associated area max covered calculations ( 100ppf+ ):

This is the theoretical max based on raw pixels from the horizontal resolution and the FOV.
Actual real world results will be decreased due to the quality of the camera ( glass vs plastic lens, compression quality, sw/firmware,... ), installation view, as well as environmental conditions ( low light, haze, fog, glare off snow, water rain,.. ).

Practical meaning: Place your cameras in such a manner that any suspect / subject you wish to potentially ID is within this ID spec distance, as well as in a placement which will give you a high likelihood of obtaining a good facial image ( mount camera 8 feet or less high ).

compare to:
Ring Video Doorbell 720p at 160 degrees: 4.08 feet { 23.23 sq feet covered }
Logitech Logi Circle HD Wireless Security Camera 720p at 135 degrees: 5.44 feet { 34.85 sq feet covered }

Hi 1fortheteam, dazz887, FawadF7944,

FYI - He has numerous times in the past as have numerous others.

Executive summary of what the issues are:
Arlo / Arlo Pro cameras and the cloud service while easy to setup are not very reliable solutions which suffer from a number of lag issues at various points in the system as well as poor motion detection, also poor videos for evidence due to no embedded time stamps and needing to download each video one at a time.

For the price of 2 of these kits you can likely get a far better 4K POE security camera system solution from your local B&M Costco. ( $900+tax for 6 Arlo Pro cameras w/2 base stations vs $800 for 6 4K POE cameras and 2TB HDD NVR )

Hi 1fortheteam,

Actually 720p is not enough for security cameras if you want to have a chance to ID suspects / subjects.

Please do take a close look at the ID distance calculations and notice how close these cameras need to be to a subject / suspect AS WELL as low enough to get a good angle on the target.

This is yet another reason why the Arlo / Arlo Pro are poor options for security cameras.

In the online notes it says includes one outdoor security mount. That makes me wonder if one could purchase additional ones.
I wish there was a better completely wireless resolution. This is on my short list due to wireless and ease of installation. I would prefer 4MP or 8MP cameras by far, but I hear bad things about Lorex customer service if there are issues as they farm it out.
I was coming here to post this deal myself so glad someone did.

Nice calcs

As i said - I have them and they are great resolution. All very well reading stuff on the web etc.

Also they are very highly rated. easy to find some bad reviews for ANY product. these were front page before

https://slickdeals.net/f/10443872-costco-members-arlo-pro-smart-home-w-3-pack-security-cameras-450-free-s-h?src=SiteSearch

So all these people were wrong? and your reading on the web is right? come on dude...

This is HIGHLY rated- 9/10 by Toms.....4/5 by PC mag. so I am afraid I believe those plus my own experience rather then you random articles and theory from the web......

https://www.tomsguide.com/us/netg...-4180.html

Also suggesting wired solutions when this is totally wireless is pointless

Hi MMakoto,

A very good option is to go to Home Depot and get screws for the base - it's a standard camera sized screw - loctite - and a metal stranded cable ( like a bike lock ) and then bolt it to your wall. This way a thief would also need some tools to take it.

No word on the Arlo Pro+ yet - there's a lot of movement in the consumer wire free security camera segment - so Netgear better hurry up on new and better products.
