Those specs are questionable in a $14 meter. Probably not really Cat III 600V. Maybe not 6000 count. Most people would never even know. I'm even suspicious of the reviews. 900 5 star reviews and only 21 1-4 stars?? Even really well made products don't get reviews that great... and this looks to be an inexpensive, but probably decent meter. Not great. Also, those 921 reviews were all made in the past FOUR months. Sounds more like computer farm work.
EDIT: For $14, it's probably still a good deal for an auto-ranging DMM with backlight.

Still, if you're set on buying one, the next model up is also 25% off and only $4.50 more ($17.99) from CN. (available for pre-order. not expected in-stock till 9-25). It's the 9999 count model AN8008 [banggood.com]. In addition to most of the features in the AN8002, this one measures down to uA and includes a variable square wave generator function (but loses C / F measurement). Plus Dave, the EEVBlog guy, did a review that looks interesting...

(the AN8008 review prompted me to search more about the AN8002, and does seem to be a somewhat popular cheap MM... so the 921 reviews are more probable, though still seems likely to have been buffed with extra 5 star reviews.)

These sites tend to incentivise the reviewers with the discounts for the future orders so they feel somewhat obligated to be nice. You can see that many reviews have pictures and those in languages I understand don't sound computer generated.

Not something professionals will want as their primary meter, but for enthusiasts this is a killer option comparing to manual ranging Craftsman for $10 that regularly takes the front page.

These (under different brands) appear to be well loved on Amazon [amazon.com] as well, on sale for $19.

It's possible I'm just so used to seeing fake reviews on Amazon*, I see them everywhere now. Frown Still, by computer farm I don't mean computer generated. It's more like a offshore call center. Cheaply paid people in India, China, etc, who spend all day online doing things like creating accounts and leaving reviews for certain products.

I agree you're getting a lot for $14. Still thinking of buying one of the $18 AN8008 meters as a backup / replacement for one of the meters I already have... just it's probably another toy I don't really need.

** recently almost fell for the fake reviews on an Amazon product myself. I figured the $99.99 list was inflated, but with 4.9 stars and 200 ratings at $24.99, it seemed like a slam-dunk. Still, I checked a few of the reviewers... only for find they pretty much all ONLY reviewed products from the same few companies. Ubante, DILISS, Glowgeek.. again, and again, and again. Annoyed by almost being taken in, I complained about several of the reviews being fake to Amazon. I even posted a question as to why all the reviews were fake. Amazon never responded and not only did they do nothing about the fake reviews, they didn't allow my question about all the fake reviews to be posted. Just pathetic that Amazon is now protecting the scammers.

I'm tempted but holding strong. Maybe his has to do with half dozen meters I already own. Cheap ones are in cars, but maybe every room in the house doesn't need a meter. Smilie

I would not use this on anything above 120VAC.
This is a tool your live might depend on, so this is not something I'd try to save a few bucks.
Buy a Fluke or something similar...

Sale went from 25% off to 28%. It's at $13.33 now (from China) for the next couple of days, so save an extra $.50 now.
