The double occupancy bit seems to make this kinda crap... for 1 person you add 600 bucks

I've seen roundtrip airfares as low as 300-350 from some cities in the past year (and that included R/T to London with a free stopover in iceland up to 7 days too)

So at that point it comes down to how expensive a hotel you wanna stay at.... and if you happen to want to stay specifically at one of the 3 they offer, and for the specific # of days they offer... versus just booking your own hotel (with whatever occupancy is relevant for your party)

Also be aware- Iceland in general is stupid expensive for food and whatnot- so when they suggest breakfast could be "worth" 30 bucks they're not kidding.

Interesting deal, but the groupon page (for me) now says From $699 - Is there no longer a $599/pp option available?

I did this trip last year for 5 days. I highly recommend doing this if you can. It is a great adventure.

However, I booked through Icelandair direct. Sign up for their newsletter and you will get alerts for deals like this. This groupon deal is not that great IMO. If you book direct through the airline you can choose a few different hotels and some included tours. Last year in Nov for two RT flights, hotel for 5 nights (Fosshotel), and tour, it ended up being about $1700.

I wouldn't stay in the same hotel for 5 nights in Iceland. You need to get out of Reykjavík and drive around the country, you'll see so much more! Do it cheap on WOW Air + camping, there's camp sites all around the country, easy and cheap.

Agreed, we spent about a day in Reykjavik and a day doing the Golden Circle Tour on a brief stopover and that was enough time in the city, really. If you want to experience Iceland (which we didn't), get there and do the drive around the country. That's what I'll do if I go back.

Agreed. Save money, rent a cabin on Airbnb, rent a cheap car
