Newegg on ebay has the Asus PG279Q 27" WQHD/IPS/Gsync for $639.99.
This is close to the lowest I've ever seen this monitor and with no tax in many states.

Definitely the lowest I've seen it.

$728 from Amazon at it's lowest recorded

I just bought the one from Microcenter with the $100 student discount but there was still $50 in tax so it was $700. I'll return the better looking one Stick Out Tongue

Or do I keep both....

Two seems like a waste of one for me. But that's cause I see this a gaming monitor more than anything else and I wouldn't run 2560x1440x2 (just short of 4k) mode for games. I rather jump in on the 34" ultrawide model Asus has as their top tier model in that case.

I'm pairing this up with a 2k Dell display on each side in portrait mode. Gaming on this exclusively.

Unfortunately I haven't gamed with G-Sync or 1440p. I have a 580 but just ordered a 1080 Ti. I had it connected at work and it's very crisp and vivid with my Pixel pictures.

The red glow at the base is cool, it will pulse with the computer off. You can toggle it on/off. The bezel is minimal (~1/4"). The rotation of the base is nice if you have an off spot or more than 1 monitor. You can rotate 90, tilt, height adjustment. The base is sturdy and heavy, the height will stay put nicely. The buttons are hidden on the back, the power LED is small and not too bright. Nav is nice with a little joystick.

Overall it's a beautiful monitor, I can't wait to play Ark maxed / G-sync / 1440p on this.

I've read about the light bleed and did in fact notice it and inspect the severity with the lights off and a black screen lit. ASUS claims this is normal but you don't notice it (usually) when gaming.

Just kidding, unless I was going for 3. I looked into the 34" ultrawide but price, desk space, custom ratio for games (potential issues/hacks) and the lower refresh rate turned me away.

Question,
I notice difference between 60-120. 120-144 not so much. This is overclocked to 165 Hz but haven't tried it. G-Sync will sync with the card which will fluctuate, including the refresh rate correct? This won't exceed 165 Hz but I'd bet it's noticeably smoother than the 34" @ 100 Hz.

I'll just leave this here:

Thats a great setup! I currently have a 21:9 but only at 60hz so I plan to upgrade to something like that soon, if not a gaming ultrawide. Does the refresh rate difference between your side monitor affect the main one? I am assuming your side 2k dells are 60hz and your main is 144+.

Thanks!

I have the same monitor nd want to do the two portrait modes as well. What are the 2k dells you are using? I've been searching for a long time for something that would match well.

Lot of people seem to complain about an excessive amount of light bleed on these. Anyone own/tried one and checked?

its crazy. ordered mine yesterday @ 10:10. It arrived today @ 11:00. It is a beautiful brand new monitor in an unopened box.

no dead pixel/ no light bleed that i can notice. I will mess with it more but G-sync 1440p @ 165hz is beautiful on an IPS. very happy with this deal.
