Anything is better than those flimsy Harbor Freight tape measures.

Paying for Stuff that works better is better than free

Free often eventually cost me somethin, time, money, grief, stress - often more than the cost saved was worth and i end up paying anyway

I don't know about Milwaukee, but the twin pack Stanley FatMax tape measures around the holiday season are thinner than the single pack Stanley FatMax. Thinner tape measures are a pain when measuring long distances cause the don't hold their stiffness...

These tapes are awesome! They're definitely worth $20ea so I jumped at the 2 pack for $25 during the holidays. Markings top and bottom, magnetic end, large "hook" on end both top & bottom, and strong wire type belt clip.

Yeah, I'm thinking I may have to give these a shot at this price.

Not a big fan of these.
Have used a lot of tape measurer over the years.
This milwaukee one has started peeling what ever coating they put on it, and it's not the same.
It wasn't even used heavily.

Still using the fatmax and dewalt ones no problems.

To quantify, the HF tape is .10mm & the Milwaukee is .15mm thick (according to my HF caliper). So, if I extend the HF tape to ~7' it bends under its own weight and the Milwaukee bends at ~9'. And, my HF tape already has wrinkles/creases in it now, at the tip, from light use. While the HF is free and can be seeded around my shop...they are delicate. So, I can't say they are super-better but observably better.

Unless you get a rebate exceeding your cost!

I remember buying fax machines about 15 years ago and getting rebates about $15 above my total cost.

That's a hell of a tape ... 10mm=(almost) 1/2" thick.
