This is the regular retail price. Where is the deal? Also, it wont even be released until Mid-October.

Chance for it to be on sale during BF. Might as well wait.

That is not 1080p...not even close like 150ppi...I wish they have the lineup little bit of an upgrade while keeping price low.

So the difference from my hd8 is bigger screen, better graphics, 30% faster, hands free Alexa, and 2 hours less battery life. I also got mine for $50 which is 3 times less than this thing.

Any info on the processor performance, especially compared to the snapdragon 800/801/805 generation? I'm still using my note 10.1 2014 as well as an old 8.9 Fire HD tablet from circa 2012.

I also think these have 2gb ram instead of 1.5gb in the 8

I think you are confused, this is the new version of it and it certainly is 1080p.

"features a brilliant 10.1" 1080p Full HD display (1920 x 1200) with over 2 million pixels (224 ppi)."

Not a bad price, but regular price, which means not slick.

I was hoping the replacement to the previous HD10 would be a higher-end model.

I understand making low cost options to entice customers and build a bigger base. But what about a premium model, a real successor to the HDX?
They do it for e-readers: the intro Paperwhite, mid-range Voyage, and premium Oasis.

Looks like I will be shopping for an iPad this Black Friday.

good to know it's out now but it wasn't a big secret. Some of the new ESP features might appeal to some. I can read minds this way.

The all-new Fire HD 10 tablet that was announced this morning is Amazon's first tablet to feature hands-free Alexa capabilities. That means you'll be able to belt out your Alexa commands without needing to first press and hold the home button, like you have to do with Amazon's other tablets. For those of you with Amazon Echos and other Alexa devices in your home, you'll be relieved to hear that the Fire HD 10 does come with Amazon's Echo Spacial Perception (ESP)
