Nest Thermostat E - $19 AR for Columbia Gas/AEP Ohio customers ($94-$75 rebate)

I just received an email from Columbia Gas Ohio offering a new Nest Thermostat E for $19 after rebate. The rebate itself is offered through both AEP Ohio and Columbia Gas so you likely need to be a customer of both to get the full discount.

It looks like it asks for a Columbia Gas account number during account registration so I don't know if non-customers could still order it for $94 without the additional $75 AEP rebate.

Special offer - new Nest Thermostat E for $19*
The Nest Thermostat E turns itself down when you're away. You can control it from anywhere. Its frosted display is beautifully designed to blend into any decor. The best part? It can be yours for just $19* after rebates from Columbia Gas of Ohio and AEP Ohio. Saving just got a lot easier.

Start saving today:
Purchase your new Nest Thermostat E with our rebate for $94
Redeem AEP Ohio's rebate separately at www.AEPOhio.com/Rebates [aepohio.com]
Install your thermostat and start saving!
*Program requirements and limitations apply. The $19 price is after rebates from both Columbia Gas of Ohio and AEP Ohio are applied.[/quote]

Weid. It specifically states that you don't have to be a customer of that electric co, but I get the zip code message too. Too bad, my local energy co also has a $75 discount

Same! But I have the AEP Ohio Energy Bridge and Thermostat. For free! Request them from the It's Your Power app on iOS and Android. You do not have to have the Smart Meter to use the thermostat BTW. I love it. The energy bridge really opens your eyes to how much energy you are using.

I don't see it in the app. Where is it?

iOS or Android? In iOS press the hamburger menu in the top left, press Devices. You should be able to request them from there. Not sure if you have to be logged in or not.

Does the thermostat have to be registered or used by the customer? I'm tempted to pick 1 up for a friend. I already have a nest gen 2 that works fine.

Strange. I'm logged in on iOS. No devices option. I'm in Hilliard.

"If you're an AEP Ohio customer, Click Here to apply for your additional rebate once your purchase is made"

That implies that someone who is not a customer can buy it but without the extra $75 discount.

Think your reading it wrong. That means you still pay $94 and if your not an aep and Columbia gas customer you can't get it for $19 after instant and mail in rebates. I have Columbia gas but not aep so I pay 94 with no rebates
