Thanks, it was there for my old selling account. Guess it's time to clear out the basement.

Nice if you can get it

I wish they offered more frequent selling promos instead of ebucks every now and then

Ebay just changed their TOS so they can charge you if you close a listing before it is due to close. They're tired of people selling outside ebay and not paying the final value fees. So, they're going after people that close listings early and are charging them anyway.

I tried researching this, and I found that this is only applicable if ebay determines you shared contact information and/or used the ebay platform in the context of performing a transaction outside of ebay.

Right now it's more fun to buy than to sell on eBay.

Any inconsiderate buyer can simply say 'item has scratch on it', and claim Buyer Protection. Effectively turn any perfectly NEW item into USED item. Sucks to be eBay seller these days, not only seller have to sell the item as used, they also punished to pay twice the amount of shipping fees.

Because of this rampant buyer protection abuse, selling on Craiglist is more straightforward. Buyers are mostly honest (despite many lowball offers); but most importantly, buyers are more serious in buying the product, not just want to 'borrow' and sabotage the product.

I have found Facebook marketplace to be good to sell. I have had better luck there than Craigslist.

so if listing has no bids and you close the listing, ebay can charge you sale fees? sounds legal no-no to me. sure they can ban your account etc etc but they cant prove you sold something thru them.

"At eBay, we strive to make our policies clear and our services easy to use. As part of that commitment, we're announcing some changes to the eBay User Agreement.

Our updated User Agreement will take effect on September 19, 2017 for new users and on November 1, 2017 for all other users. The updated User Agreement was posted on eBay.com on September 19, 2017.

The key update to the eBay User Agreement is that we've made it clearer how we address violations of our policy on offers to buy or sell outside eBay. Sellers who violate this policy may be charged a final value fee for the applicable item, even if it doesn't sell.

Thank you for being a part of the eBay community.

Sincerely,
The eBay team "

I just received my coupon, but it's for only $15 instead of $30. <Sigh.> I sold 4 items for $10 or more within the time limits.

I spent an hour on the phone with eBay, and it's still unclear whether they will send me the additional $15 coupon. Apparently, the rep's first language is not English, because she didn't understand that "by September 25" means "on or before September 25".

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of actually saying to her, "Perhaps your first language is not English." She suddenly became very curt, and entered some touch-tones into my ear (as if I were an abusive caller). She said she would send me the coupon, but then curtly said good-bye.

I called eBay also. The rep sounded American and was courteous. Asked me when did I receive the first email. How many sales need to be made and the coupon value at each level.

In the end, he found the promotion details and will issue another coupon for $25 in 48 hours time. We will see

Suspiciously, the original email invite from eBay was not found in my eBay inbox anymore. I remember reading it
