Has a link to order from Amazon Fresh too. You could apply the $10 coupon for first order and get an additional 15% back if you have an Amazon store card making this $115+tax.

Better off with cloud backup.

Can this be set up as a Windows Domain Controller? My wife complains that each computer in the house has a different password. (I know: first world problems.) Joining to a domain would fix that.

I just bought one of these last week. Drives just slide right in. However, it doesn't come with any screws, (and of course neither do most drives) so be sure to get screws per drive from somewhere else.

I think it supposed to come with screws. Talk to the company.

I have one of these.. I've had it for probably 4 years now. Fairly reliable, however I did have one issue about 3 years ago where the drives stopped responding. I ended up having to re-format them to work again. Since then, I've purchased a 1 TB external drive that I use as a backup. I know it defeats the purpose of having the Synology, but everything I have on there are old pictures and I'm paranoid of losing them all. So, I basically go through once a year and make sure everything I have on my NAS is backed up to the external.

I also never could figure out how to access the NAS remotely, which would be nice for file sharing.

Same price at NEWEGG.COM.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...-_-Product

Better deal if you don't have to pay sales tax at NEWEGG.
(I always have to pay sales tax at AMAZON.)

Also ShopRunner and PremierExpress eligible at NEWEGG.

I don't believe that you can run windows server on this. But even if you could, and had am extra license to burn, wouldn't just be easier to go around to each of the machines once and change the passwords so they match?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all about doing cool stuff just to do it, but there is a much easier way.
