Brushless?
One indication it's brushless w/o looking at text is to look at the handle to see if it has that yellow on it, it's where it says Brushless.. works with all their tools. If the handle is all black then it's an older brushed model.

Edit: I'd only buy this if you're drilling into cement a lot, otherwise you're doing yourself a disservice by carrying around a much heavier, larger drill compared to a regular drill. If you need that though, I'd pounce on it, the battery will make having that hammer drill worth it when you're using that function. Also, the reviews are impressive for this drill even when comparing it to corded drills (for cement drilling).

The cheapest brushless set I'm aware of currently is the DCK281D2 on Amazon at $216 (w/ Tax) but there's no hammer drill functionality, no 6ah battery, no handle, and most important no Made in Merica badge on the bag. You do get a dinky work light free! Wink

If you need to drill in Cement - Great deal. Otherwise, I'd hold off for a regular XR Drill / Impact Driver kit which is what most readers will need. And you want XR because you're getting even better efficiency / power for not much more money.

The hammer function adds just 0.1 lbs to the drill, so negligible difference.
Comparing apples to apples though - there are also lighter drills (DCD790 from the kit cheap kit) but they're way less powerful even non-masonry use.

If you do need to drill in anything larger then the occasional 6-8mm hole in cement then do yourself a favor and buy a rotary hammer.

$239 is a smokin deal on this set but the coupon is not working. Try again tomorrow or call them. I've experienced in the past it took them a day or so to get their coupon codes working properly.

Thanks.
From my experience CPO has been just as reputable as HD or Amazon. Stuff has even been drop shipped right from Dewalt. Dewalt is a bit shady though. My biggest complaint is they sell repackaged tools as new. I have experienced this from many online retailers including Amazon, CPO, Acme, and noticed it at the HD stores so I've come to the conclusion Dewalt is behind it. Even the drop shipped tool straight from Dewalt was repackaged. They do a crappy job too, usually opening everything up with a razor knife, marking tools in the process with the knife, and then piss poorly repackaging it. I even had a new grinder that was obviously disassembled for some reason. The sticker that spanned both clamshells was cut with a knife, scoring the actual plastic of the tool underneath. The only reason for that is to take it apart. I have never been able to get a straight answer out of any of them. They all deny knowing anything about it but it seemed to be confined to Flexvolt stuff. My best guess was they were testing the flexvolt batteries before shipping, but why they disassembled the grinder I have no idea.

My less major complaint is the packaging on new tools that are not repackaged. Very minimal if any protection for the contents, not even a plastig bag sometimes. I feel Dewalt takes zero pride in their product when they do this. I have not experienced this lack of pride or quality in any other tools manufacturers, not even harbor freight.

Except for the DCF895 impact. It's brushless with an all black handle.....
