I purchased this "tele" last time and I love it. There are several QC issues (see photos):

Other than those, my only complain is that the neck pickup is not adjustable, though I don't think it's hard to modify it myself.

I've requested return and placed another order today. Hopefully I'll be getting a better one this time.

They can't seem to get rid of these. They keep going on sale and have been the Stupid deal a few times. The issue is that they don't play well. I had one and sent it back. There are G&L ASAT tele's made in S.Korea that are really good, but these Indonesian ones get pretty poor reviews from what I have since read. I think if it were $200, it would be a "no brainer." At this price, and considering how often it comes up, it is very much a "brainer" in my opinion. Mostly because you can buy one used for $175 on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace if you are patient.

MIM Fender dude - all the way! This has the looks, but I owned this Stupid deal one and sent it back. I ended up getting a G&L tele-style with dual humbuckers from South Korea that I love, although, I love my MIM Fender more and I play it more because it has the classic Tele pickup configuration (single coils) and it sounds more like I think a telecaster should. Plus, I find that people know Fender more and that helps when reselling or trading in guitars. I say this as a guy who thinks G&L is awesome and I actually like them more than Fender. But, you asked and this is my opinion: MIM Tele can usually be had at a great price and they are ideal.

In my neck of the woods MIM telecaster usually go for a bit more than MIM strats, usually around $400-450, which I won't pay. I just sold a solid ashe Japanese 52 reissue tele so I need to reload my arsenal hehe

There were different ASAT model deals previously but it was only the second time this particular one on sale. Among all these deals I like this nature finish most. But yes QC is hit-and-miss.

I totally agree. I got one of their HSS strats on a stupid deal and to be honest I felt my Squier Standard played better. The pickups were nice, but there is a reason these are always on a fire sale.

Yeah I'm "at peace" with my decision to hold off...I'm an advanced player (if I may say so) and don't need another middling instrument crowding up my dwelling.... On the other hand, these gibson sales I've been seeing lately, that might be too much of a temptation to resist.

G&L makes the sweetest sounding Teles the imports can use some variable wood but at least this you know the body is Ash. Sweet Ash!

Looks dead. This or a mim tele would be fine depending on how the exact guitar played. I have a usa tele and mim strat. I played a couple of these a couple of months ago. One played poorly imo for about $350 and another played great, but was about $480 with case.

Had to send it back too bad great sounding Tele could not tell what was making the high E buzz no matter how adjusted ...maybe the nut was cut too deep, They really need look into using another Fab to make these because the G&L hardware is great. But the Tributes seem not to to live up to the name.
