The description say G930P as the model which is a Sprint/Boost model. Not sure why they say won't work Sprint.

They say that because they are bad IMEI phones and unlock them and out a different factory rom like the U rom and say they are refurbished. But they could be stolen or what not.

Are there enough LTE bands to use this on AT&T reliably?

Very easy to flash the U (unlocked) variant or AT&T firmware through ODIN to enable disabled bands and network features. You need the AT&T firmware to use their VoLTE/WiFi calling. ymmv.

Sprint phones usually don't work that well with GSM networks like T mobile, or ATT. I'm sure you can find which bands this phone supports though.

not necessarily. for example, mine is a sprint model and i flashed it to unlocked. i bought it new and paid it off amd got it unlocked, but I've that if i flash it back to sprintit can lock itself up, so i rather not. i would also advertise it as not compatible to sprint.

No but from this seller they really are IMEI lol. Bought some while back S7. Already has the U software and they are financed devices. That's why they can't be used on Sprint

These S7's can dynamically change what bands they support based on the radio firmware. Which is why people load the U firmware or the actual carrier A/T/V to get the features they want. ATT needs ATT rom to do wifi calling or volte. Otherwise U is fine if you don't care about those things.

Looking to replace an old S3 on Cricket / AT&T. How hard would it be to get this working? I'm very familiar with Linux but I've never flashed a phone with alternate firmware. Would it be considered rooted afterward?

This sounds like a great price but I have T-mobile and need wifi calling to work well in my area. Thoughts?
