I paid full price for this a little over a month ago and have put it to good use. It's bright and lasts a long time. It does get hot in the high output setting but hasn't turned off from overheating when I used it for 45+ minutes. I've used it for hours without it indicating low battery. It's very convenient charging via micro USB and is a huge upgrade over AA cree torches. I prefer tail cap power buttons but this button works fine. It will cycle through modes unless tou let it sit for a 10 seconds or so and then will shut off if power button pressed. Minor annoyances: green glow from front when turned off. It stays glowing for a bit until all power drains. The included tassel ripped too easily. I recommend the light though.

I will give this a shot for my car. Still have a Maglite in the glove box which surely has dead batteries. At least this could be recharged with the phone charg on occasion.

Thanks for the info. Do you have any idea whether there is any type of overcharging protection circuitry in this? I assume if it did they would have touted that in the description. I always worry about that in cheap lights that charge this type of battery. I'm getting it anyway. I'll just probably use a protected cell.
