Leave mine on 24/7 for the last 4 years and I replace them maybe every 6 months. I use eneloops.

I use it for engineering work. Having the extra buttons is amazing when you end up having to do repetitive commands. You can set the buttons to perform different macros for each program too.

Or leaving it on a surface that make the mouse think it's moving around and staying active all the time? It goes to sleep when not moving so maybe it's detecting movement and staying on.

I got it for $30 last time with PAXWEST coupon code. It is a great mouse and still worth 35 bucks!

I like the feel of it better, also, if I remember right (been a while) it has a few more buttons and it's easily programmed.

This thing eats through batteries if you forget to turn it off. Better have a few sets of AA rechargeables ready.

are gaming mice any more "accurate" with the pointer? I have an M510 and do a lot of AutoCAD work and some other engineering modeling software. Sometimes I wish the mouse was more accurate with the pointer. Would a gaming mouse like this provide better precision with the pointer?

thanks!

Good mouse but has a bad habit of having the LMB die due to too much pressure on the switch.

I've changed mine once in the past year. Most online reviews say the same. Maybe your unit is defective or you're not using good batteries.
