Limited quantities, though. The 65" is $1000 more, so not that hot.

Massdrop has been around for a while. Basically the more people who join a 'drop' the lower the price gets (in increments).

The 65" is $2,599 btw.

Massdrop is legit. They are a site that is able to negotiate a lower price if the minimum quantity is reached. As fas as customer service, I cannot comment

Yea sorry about not being clear. I'll change the title to reflect that only the 55" is really a good deal. The 65" (as others have mentioned) is $1000 more.

Also, this deal has come before, so if you have concerns about Massdrop you can read through the thread:

Has anyone successfully used Chase's PP with a Massdrop deal? Would it qualify?

That's my plan. At least one person mentioned doing that in the previous deal. Without PP, it's still about what you'd pay for an open box elsewhere (or less).

Those are my thoughts. Add PP to the 55 and it's a really nice deal. I was going to pull the trigger on a C7 for a bit more, but if an additional 500 can be knocked of this, it's a no brainer.

Clarify: only favoring the C7 for aesthetic looks. Not price.

I really want a 65" but have my fingers crossed that it'll get closer to 2000 in November. Right now there are deals for ~2300. Decent deal for those looking to grab a new 55" though.

I have used them a lot in the past. They are set up for things that are difficult to find, and so normal consumers are not expecting the very long wait times. Basically they will place an order with the company, everything will be shipped to massdrop, massdrop will repackage and send to the customers. For something like this i would hope they would dropship, but pay close attention to the estimated delivery time.

One extreme example is keycaps, many of those don't get delivered for over 6 months.

I got this deal when it was posted a few weeks ago. TV actually came in the factory box, wrapped in a BuyDig box. Works flawlessly. And, although it's not supposed to, it does decode Dolby Atmos. You can turn it on in the menu. And the tv will verify an Atmos track is playing by displaying the Atmos name in the top right corner at the beginning of playback.

Did you price protect by any chance? Still waiting to see if anyone has successful done that with massdrop...
