Samsung.com Trade In Deal for Note 7 Users (who have phone other than the ones listed)

-13 Deal Score

This is basically the same deal as listed here NOTE 8 DEAL FOR NOTE 7 USERS.

Samsung is being even more generous to us users who dont have one of the listed "Galaxy S5, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, S7, S7 edge, Note 5, iPhone SE, 5, 5s, 6, 6+, 6s, 6s+, 7, 7+
Pixel, Pixel XL, LG G4, G5, G6, V20" phones.

When speaking with them i was told that any android or apple phone that is in good working condition following their guidelines on samsung.com would work.

step 1:

Place your order and select any of the phone trade in options (after following the $425 note 7 link).

step 2:

Call in and notify them that you want to change your trade in to xxx phone. They will make a note in your account so the warehouse will accept your return.

step 3:

Receive note 8, print your return label off the website and ship your trade in.

After receipt of our trade in the warehouse has 6-7 business days to contact you with any "issues" regarding your trade in.

I sent in my old ZTE phone which i for for cheap. Its showing a credit for $425 on my accounts page.

I know of a few other people that have followed the same path with no problems.

***This is for note 7 users!***

Edit: I called the regular Samsung sales number on the website.

this is gotta be YMMV. I know folks that had to cancel and re-order just because they selected the wrong phone type.

This is one of the dumbest posted deal I've ever seen. You will be getting a $400 charge in 1-3 months. No matter what the Samsung idiots on the phone or chat or email have told you. No matter what the stupid Samsung website shows for the trade in value. I guarantee they will eventually charge you the $400.

for S6 edge + is to add $350 to trade in and get Note 8. I dont bother to ship and just went to a local T-Mobile store and have them do the rest for me

In additions to trade in, you get either free 360 camera or Sd card + fast charge station if you use the newly purchased Note 8 to register via its app by 9/24/17.

After reading the post, I called in to the customer service 855-726-8721and asked them if I could sent in my ZTE phone. They took in the manufacturer name and model number and created a ticket in my order number with the details saying I can return that phone as a $450 trade in. The customer service representative told me I can return any iphone or android phone as long as I could give them mod3l number. YMMY

Have to down vote, sorry. I know you're trying to do a public service here and help people, so I'm sure your heart is in the right place, but this has the potential to blow up in everyone's faces.

If you trust these representatives and whatever third-party that processes these phones then I have an island in Idaho to sell you. If it works then great, glad you got a deal. But to call this YMMV is like calling water wet. I really do hope it works for you but personally I would absolutely not recommend this to anyone unless they're willing to gamble on getting a $25 credit toward the $930-$960 phone. I'd at the very least make this known to anyone who's eyes light up with hope that this could be their opportunity to jump in.

I know I might sound like a dick here but I'm honestly just telling you and anyone interested in this for their own good. IF you do this, be damn sure you document EVERYTHING. Even then, the terms are there in fine print and whatever a Samsung rep told you won't hold up. Again, highly YMMV.

You are being a dick. I have several voice recordings of phone calls to Samsung, and yes I notified them of my recording. I also have email confirmation of the same. Nothing is blowing up in anyone's face. They are offering this to note 7 users who did not buy into the listed phones. It's been confirmed by damn near everyone who calls and asks about it. Samsung warehouse makes the decision within 6-7 days. If the hit my card later I'll call my credit card for a charge back as I have documentation of everything.

Document your communication and you will be fine.

Don't listen to fear mongering.

Why don't you follow my simple instructions for which I have proof and documentation for... Rather than putting out fear of something you know nothing about.

Plus the more people that do it, the less chance that people will loose out as there are more confirming it.

Simply put, Samsung is taking care of us for taking care of them. I rather trust them who personally have given me great service and products for years. You on the other hand are just an internet neysayer

You are putting way too much trust on those overseas reps. They are being paid peanuts and their only goal is to ensure you leave the chat without providing them a negative feedback.

Samsung trade in are outsourced to Ingram micro. They have no idea about or even the ability to access the internal Samsung helpdesk system. They'll scan your trade in and if it doesn't match they'll reject it. Samsung won't know if you traded in a smartphone or a banana. All they'll know is that you got rejected. It'll be up to you to escalate up the ladder when it comes time to fight the $450 charge.

It will be logistical hell because you wanted to save the $60 by not buying a 5s.
