ASUS ZenBook 3 UX390UA-XH74-BL 12.5-inch Ultra-Slim Lightweight Laptop

( Intel KabyLake Core i7 7500U 2.7GHz Processor, 16GB 2133Mhz DDR3, 512GB SSD, Windows 10 Professional 64bit )
Specs look decent, much better value than the Macbook. Iffy reviews however.

Much better specs then the 12" macbook, but reviews dont seem too good while the 12" macbook actually gets good reviews. Kind of odd considering spec wise this is much better.

While a 14", Costco runs the UX430UQ for $999 every couple of weeks.

The 430 also has the 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 940MX vs the integrated graphics of the 390.

And if you buy the 430UQ at Costco you'll get the 2YR warranty.

I would assume they'll all start lowering the price of these models as they are putting the 8th Gen processor in newer models.

However if you want the 12.5", the other model won't do you much good.

It is $1249.99 at the moment, but it has been $999.99 2x in the past 1 and a half months. It goes off & on.

If it wasn't for the 8th Gen processors out & coming out in the next month, I probably would have jumped on it. I would have gotten another 2% back with the exec membership, the 2yr warranty, plus standard 1yr accidental not to mention a 90 day return policy.

4% back if you have their Visa + 2% exec. Would have been $939.99 before tax. $99 for 3yr accidental btw. ($93.06 with 6%)

Also forgot DDR4 with this one.

Wow just 2lbs, that's even lighter than the 2½lb LG Gram. But still, even at that small 12.5" size, which I'd prefer a 13.3" or 14.1", (1920x1080p) FHD is just not a good enough resolution anymore. I need a 13.3" - 15.6" (2560x1440p) Quad-HD - (3200x1800p) Quad-HD+.
You can read text on a 13.3" 4k display?

Beatuful laptop- almost considered buying this at full price last year. That gorilla glass with the yellow highlights remind me of an Aston Martin.

I would strongly recommend people to wait at this moment, specially when you are considering near to 1000 bucks, for the 8th Gen processors to come out. Dell and HP have already started and the rest is to follow soon.

Macbooks always get good reviews even if there are problems with them. Wink
