I got the Polk T-50 a few weeks ago. How are these compare to those?

Professional reviewers rate these pioneers higher than Polk, in my humble personal opinion pioneers are much better than Polk, but you should listen to these before making any decision

Since you already have the T50's, I would just stand pat. Unless you want to repurpose the T50's to another room or sell them. There isn't going to be a drastic difference in these speakers overall. This is a good price on these Pioneers, but not if you already have something similar. The T-50's will be a little louder at the same volume level compared to the FS52's due to the higher sensitivity of the Polk.

Here's a good read/review on the T-50's. http://hometheaterhifi.com/review...rs-review/

Thanks for the input. I think I will return the T50 and go with these. Almost every review site rate these higher then the Polks. The T50's are actually still unopened in the box so no problems returning them.

In addition, I originally wanted these but they didn't go on sale and the T50's did so I got those instead... But now it's here, I will get these...

Thanks again...

Now I wonder when the matching center will be on sale. Edit: Looks like I just missed it (Sept 4th).. dang it. I hope they'll do it again next month.

The AJ Pioneer speakers get a little too much praise. When these go on sale they are a good buy. However, the tweeter is pretty dull and the speakers aren't very sensitive, so they won't seem very loud unless you crank them up a bit more. The center channel is widely panned as being a poor performing speaker. You can google that and find info at avsforum.com

I know I've owned the full line of AJ speakers and also Polk Monitor 60 SII towers and the Polk's are much better to listen to, IMO. If the Pioneers were so remarkable they would be sold out and never go on sale. As it is, one or another from this line seems to always be on sale.

I have 4 of these. Also use these as rears. They are really good. Definitely more worth than its price.

Are you rating them against speakers that costs 2-4 times as much (MSRP) or are you comparing them to similarly priced speakers? The T-50 I got were on sale for $59!!

To be fair, I don't see these go on sale at many places. Only Fry's ever has them this low. Some places may get down to $99 once a while.

I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, it's just that when you've heard speakers that costs 2-4 times as much, it's hard to rate any "budget" speakers fairly since anything "budget" will sound like "crap" to you.

I think for the average Joe's like me (and hundreds of reviews on Amazon, I believe these will be perfect for my needs and fits my budget very nicely.
