Not random orbital...pass.

EDIT: I stand corrected. Why wouldn't they advertise that in the title of the product? I got the 3.0 amp instead for the variable speed.

If random orbital is needed, I took a chance on an $18 random orbital from Wal-Mart of all places. Used it on a 6 hour project with no problems. Not sure how long it will last on the next project but was a pleasant surprise.

How is the 3amp one better? It's also on sale for $37. Worth it?

I think the 3am one is variable speed and this is single speed.

Just got it at the local walmart. The "hyper tough" generic brand. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-...r/45626157

I had it for just over 2 years (weekend projects, nothing substantial) when it died on me. It started out great but didn't last as long as I'd expect. There's a pressure "pad" that can loosen causing a significant, if not complete, loss of power. I started losing power and it eventually completely died. I tried to replace the "pad" but it would never stay in place.
I switched over to Ridgid ($60) and couldn't be happier. Much smoother, easier to handle, and lifetime warranty.

How does this compare to the popular Black + Decker BDERO100 aside from the 2 vs 3A? How is the build quality? Is it more reliable?
