Here's Canon's descripton of the camera:

EOS 80D Body Refurbished
EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens
Battery Pack LP-E6N
Battery Charger LC-E6
Eyecup Eb (Not shown)
Wide Strap

Does that mean only the camera body itself was refurbished? Are the lens, battery and other stuff new?

$200 more to upgrade to the 18-135mm USM, a more versatile, very nice walking around lens.

Refurb: both lens and cameras are refurb but most report impossible to tell from new. I have bought 3 SLRs and lots of refurb lenses. All look new and come with as new factory warranty and new accessories (or mine did anyway ).

By rumor, many refurbs are new overstock inventory. The 70d I bought a few years ago had 30 shutter releases. I didn't check for my 80d but it looked new.

Actually a $300 upgrade as the current price is $1079. Question is - is it a worth upgrade or should I wait more for 18-135 USM kit to fall under $1K? Possible by BF? https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/e...efurbished

Is the 18-135mm USM the same lens as the 18-135mm STM? I don't see an STM version of the 18-135mm bundled with this camera (but I do with 70D)

Anyone can comment on refurb quality? Worth the risk ?

I have purchased several refurbished items from Canon. They came in new/mint condition. The best thing is, 1 year the warranty from Canon. I never hand an issue so far with refurbished items.

Refurb cameras were reported as new or with few hundred shutter counts.

I just bought it and honestly, it looks perfectly brand new. There weren't any scratches (I tried really hard to look) and it came w wrapped batteries, charger, and the strap. I couldn't find a free software to check up shutter count but I doubt this has had more than 50 shots.

Like the others have mentioned, if you want an all-around lens, you can pick the other kit lens. I bought this one and a nifty fifty and to me that's good enough Big Grin
