So, $90 for the first year and $120 for each subsequent year as long as you own the watch and the service. I definitely want a watch that costs me more as it ages. I was looking forward to the phone-free operation of the Series 3 cellular, but this is nothing but money-grab by the service providers. T-Mobile DIGITS is free with ANY device you want to set it up and use (e.g., computers, cell phones, etc), but costs $10 if you have the Series 3 Apple watch. If my plan has unlimited talk, text, data, why does it matter which device is using the service.

I'll stick with my Series 2 and take the phone with me to bike rides, the beach, etc happily now.

Interesting thing about smartwatches is that I almost never see anyone wearing them. I'm in SF a few times a month as my daughter lives/work there in tech. I asked her why I never see her friends wearing them and she replied that many people wear vintage or Swiss watches and just don't see the point of another electronic gizmo..especially one that needs a wifi or network to function. I'm in med equipment sales and have never seen anyone wear them. I did see a waitress at a Denny's wearing one and she said she loves it for scheduling for work and school. I can see that benefit and a alternative to a phone.

It's ok if you don't want to pay another fee to get internet on a watch, but come on now. Those computers and other devices your mentioned have to get internet somehow (that someone paid for).

BTW, I agree it's kind of silly to pay for this when you already have phone with you. But for those that need it, i think it is pretty awesome. For $10/mon, you have a watch that doesn't depend on any phone and can travel the US and have signal and stream music and take calls, etc. etc. If only they made AW3 with a long battery life.

The AW3+LTE has been nice the past few days coming from the AW2. On the treadmill or pavement, I don't have to find a secure place for my phone and leave it in the vehicle. Being on call 24/7, it's an investment for myself. Helps to not worry about a missed call if I do t hear it in the cubby hole at the gym or out of Bluetooth range when changing equipment, bathroom, etc. The heart rate monitor was my first concern until seeing the other useful tools. I believe more people will catch on with the use it brings, plus the cellular has 16GB. There are negative things with everything, but I'm writing this because of why I enjoy the device. Apple has always been great to me and I don't mind speaking positive about my results with their products I bought.
