Get a magnetic charge cable. You put a tiny adapter in the charge port, which then connects to the cable magnetically. Exactly like the magsafe connector on Macbooks.

This example is the first hit when I search 'magnetic usb charger' on Amazon

I have this keyboard and it's probably one of the better wireless keyboard/touchpad combos you can get ... however the charging port is poorly designed and unless you are EXTREMELY gentle with it, it will break and Logitech has told me that it is not covered under warranty. It's good enough that I've bought a second one anyhow and figure it's the cost of typing if I have to replace every year or so.

When I opened up the case, it looked like maybe you could DIY fix it but I'm not very handy with electronics so I didn't try. Overall I hope that if you are just aware to be careful when you insert and remove the usb charging cable and do not use the keyboard while it's charging, it will last longer.

I have the same issue with the k800. Logitech was able to replace it for me with no questions asked.

I've been hearing about that micro-usb port issue forever. It has everything I want for my htpc. I might just settle for a gaming lap-desk thing like the Roccat, but they're pricey.

I have this and so far haven't had any issues with the charging port, but I don't use it much either (HTPC). I like the magnetic cable idea. This is easily among the best HTPC keyboards under $100. There are two versions and I don't know an easy way to tell between them. One uses Logitech's Unifying Receiver, the other can use a Unifying Receiver or Bluetooth.

EDIT: Figured it out. The FN label on the del key (above backspace) will be a Bluetooth symbol. Problem is, without a flashlight (or camera flash?) the FN labels are impossible to see (and they aren't backlit).

I have this keyboard as well and have not experienced any problems with the charging port. I only use it for my HTPC while watching tv shows and movies so its my my EDC Keyboard.

I've had mine for over two years, and I think I've charged it twice? I use it for my htpc and chromebox & we watch a lot of stuff in Plex. Obviously I haven't abused the charging port yet. It lights up the keys with any key press or a swipe of the touchpad, so its great if you pause in a dark room. It has an on/off switch on the top right, but leaving it on doesn't seem to appreciably drain the battery anyway, I know I've forgotten a few times. There's a button on the top left edge of the keyboard that functions as a left click, can be pretty helpful for click&drag operations with the touchpad. I can't imagine a better keyboard to use in my movie room.
