Rant ahead- this is still a huge farking ripoff. The switch costs them maybe 7 bucks with the z-wave module. Just got the aspire zwave switch from other thread for 7.99, now that's a deal

Those are just on/off switches. These work with dimmable bulbs and can be used as a 3-way switch.

I've wired about 50% of my house with these. I buy them randomly to spread out the costs. This is the lowest price I have seen. Lowes is usually $45-$50 and amazon has always been $45. This is the lowest price I have seen, so I picked up a few more.

The dimmers are well built and work well. I tested several different brands before choosing GE. Initially I went with lutron caseta which is a very nice system, but I thought the lack of neutral was causing my bulbs to hum too loud. With no neutral, caseta is more picky with bulbs.

I still can't find the perfect bulb, that has been a challenge.

Is there possible to dim these without using the app? Like a separate dimmer button on the switch or does it recognize double presses/etc?

The manual is in the product details as a pdf. It says that you tap up or down to turn it on and off. To dim via the switch, hold buttons down.

I am leaning towards trying a couple.

I got several the Zooz V2 for about $26, now those are a good deal since one switch is enough for multi switch installations, meaning no more addons required (given you can live with having one nice with the zwave and the rest with your old not as soft to the touch switches )

One small note, on the GE Addon Switches you can actually control the dimming function not just on/off. I believe the "normal" 3-ways switches will not do that.

Zooz v2 product specs says:
NEW! Direct 3-Way Solution: connects to an existing light switch for 2-point control, no special companion switch needed! (Neutral wire required, on/off control from slave switch only)

That is correct, existing switch left as companion only does on/off... which is enough for me (those are next to the fridge, barely ever used)

btw the dimmers also have the "fade out" effect when turned off and haven't find a way to reduce the time or disable it completely - even on the other Jasco we have.
Is anybody else also annoyed by that effect? I might even switch to on/off completely

Anyone know if these are the ones compatible with ADT's system. I just had the hub installed with cameras, but they want $100 per light switch, plus a $200 electrician fee. Not paying that. I heard the GE and Jasco are compatible, but want to verify if someone knows for sure.

EDIT: I'm an idiot I see where it lists which hubs it is compatible with and Pulse is on there. So different question, anyone who has bought these, was it pretty seamless to connect yourself or did it give you any trouble?
