I assume sarcasm but hdmi IS included Smilie

That said, isn't Echo Dot $40 and Fire Stick $20 when on sale? I don't know what their retail prices are since I've never paid that much. Good price if you need both right now.

That said, I just setup an Echo Dot in my car in the glove box. It's pretty neat to be able to use it on the go w/ Amazon music and other services.

You need a recent model car usb charger with at least a couple of amps output. Some are <1 amp and the dot needs more than that. Plug the dot into it, turn the car on. After about 30 seconds it'll be done booting. Use as you would in the house.

A wifi hotspot set up on your phone or an in-car hotspot like the Mobley from at&t are needed for data. Use the alexa app on your phone to configure the settings on it for wifi.

If your car has a 3.5mm AUX input jack, use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable to connect. If your car stereo has bluetooth, configure the dots bluetooth with the alexa app to use that.

Position it where it can hear you. It fits nicely in a big cupholder. Some double sticky tape or velcro and you can stick it somewhere where you have line of sight to it. It can have a hard time hearing you if the window is open.

One car had a radio with no AUX and no bluetooth. I ran it for a while with an FM transmitter but that sucked. All sorts of whines and static. I tossed a $129 radio with a rear aux and bluetooth in and ran a 3.5mm cable from the back down under the dash to where the dot is.

Get a white one or keep it where the sun never shines. I doubt a black one in the sun would last long.

Really trying to get rid of Sticks lately now that places have banned listing Kodi/Mobdro/Terrarium enabled ones, and excess stock everywhere.

That would be cool, but I'm not willing to share my cell data with Alexa. Smilie

I am cringing to find out how much data she'd eat up in a week. Coincidentally, I got a Pixel phone a few weeks ago and I was at a weekend long event taking pics and HD vids only to find out Pixel was backing up via cellular data of EVERYTHING so my 6GB bank is almost depleted so I'm going to have to wait for true test a few days later when the plan refresh.

Are you saying amazon has excess stock, or you have excess stock?

People sell these things locally on facebook all the time and can't keep them in stock. This one portly fellow in particular consistently buys up the entire stock all over town and resells them with Kodi installed.
