Seems like a good deal on a relatively high-end device.

Very good price. Only a dual core, but that's perfectly fine depending on the use. If it's possible to upgrade the RAM on this, it'd be perfect

You can easily upgrade the RAM but I'd recommend against buying this. Battery life is abysmal and it frequently heats up to 85C even when the vents are exposed. It's worse in tablet mode reaching 95C. I'm not doing anything demanding with it to reach these temps. Just watching YouTube will do it and I can hear the fan(s) activating so they are working, it just heats up that easily. My battery also already had a 5% wear level the day I got it. Overall I'd have been better off saving my money.

Great price, seen it go for about the same refurb etc from the outlet and was nearly front page each time. Have the 15in version and love it. Thumbs up OP

Don't need Lappy but price is tempting. Better than last Acer deal from Costco.

Not sure if your question is serious, but this is overkill for that. You can accomplish that with an i3 5th gen, 4gb DDR3 ram, regular HDD, and micro ATX. You can spend about $250 new or $150 to $200 used.

But to answer your question, yes it can do the job and much more.

By the time the 8th gen comes out, you're gonna say "I'm waiting for the 9th gen 6 core CPU". EEK!

That really depends. If you plan to use this with a projector, you need to make sure you have hdmi on the projector, or if not, some way to adapt which ever input to HDMI.

Same specs with 8th gen are going to run you close to triple the price I'd bet. The dual core will handle just about everything you can throw at it.

Like others said... way overkill... You can get something a bit cheaper with longer battery life to do the trick. You don't need an SSD or i7... better off with an i3 or even an M processor with a 1tb hard drive to store extra movies.
