Wait for free with no rebate.
Hardly.

If the Washington Criminals say it's bad, there are tens of millions worldwide, including here in America, who will perceive that as an endorsement of quality. And with Kaspersky, the quality is there.

Hope it's a free instant rebate.

I did a similar one in March for 45 rebate and got a check for 25... And getting it straightened out has proved impossible.

You'd think with all these "concerns" there would be at least some evidence presented. I have seen none so far. It's all fear mongering just because it's a Russian product. Kaspersky has topped the AV performance chart for years so it's a solid security product. If anyone finds any REAL evidence, do let us know; I'm more than happy to be swayed.
People are selling their souls on facebook for a few likes and no one bats an eye so it's funny this possible Russian link is a concern but the other is not.

USG is not a good example for how to run infosec....I wouldn't be surprised if Symantec is behind all the fuss...

100% true.
Use Kaspersky for the last 10-12 years. Didn't find anything better yet!

It's more than "fear mongering just because it's a Russian product". There's good grounds to be concerned, even if any direct evidence isn't public. This opinion piece does a good job of summarizing the nature of the "concerns" you so readily dismiss:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/0...ml?mcubz=1

And some hard evidence of the company's collaborations with the Russian Government:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/ar...telligence

You say you are "more than happy to be swayed", but given than the articles above are hits #1 and #2 when searching for "Kaspersky Russia", you'll forgive me for being skeptical.

Oh, is that's why it's all over the news the last few days? Because it's not a concern? Come on. (I'm not even going to discuss the obvious false equivalence between the degree and nature of any Russian link between the two companies.)
