I love my Pilot Metropolitan fountain pens. I would assume the nibs are the same as these. The medium nibs write incredibly well (not scratchy at all), but the lines are pretty thick in my opinion. More chance of smearing and blobs. But I also write pretty tiny. The fine nibs are nearly perfect, but it can be slightly more scratchy/finicky. I use various types of Noodlers ink.

Also note that after having purchased, over time, around 10 pens.... every single "gift box" looked like total crap. It would be cool, but it always looks super scuffed up. I would be embarrassed to actually use it as a gift box. But the pens themselves are very nice.

Last time I posted this, it went in and out of stock a few times. The restock was really quick. You might want to check back in a little while.

Pretty shady how Amazon is trying to get us to buy the more expensive one but, the $8.54 one is still there.

Visit fountainpennetwork.com I'm sure you can find some other lefthanded fountain pen users who can suggest a fast drying ink.

I got the teal at $9.67 for my girlfriend when it was front page. I recommend the CON-50 Pen Converter instead of one-time use cartridges.

Something I hadn't thought about before purchasing: my two existing fountain pens were medium nib, and I bought ink for medium nibs. Well, fine tips require an ink with different characteristics. Definitely read reviews before you buy ink. I'll have to get a medium nib for her, since she hates the scratchiness of fine. I'll keep the nib for myself I guess, after I find some deals on ink.

These are awesome pens. Crisp look and nice to look at. The display box sucks but at least the pen is amazing! Thanks, Repped!!
