Concerned about the headband issues on these, particularly if refurbished. But might be worth the risk at this price point.

Personally, I'd wait until the brand new ones come down to this price range, which seems inevitable in light of the newer model that recently came out.

Recommend not getting these refurbished, the headband will crack and Sony will not honor any warranty.

Anyone have used these and the Bose QC35? Is one more recommended over the other? Are the Sony's as comfortable as the Bose?

People have compared this and the qc35 for the longest time. My Take is are you ok with a Mercedes or a BMW. Both are top performers in sound. Just depends on what brand you are more loyal too. The headband issue does suck tho...

Not sure if we would know for certain but I wonder if part of the manufacturer refurbishing process is to replace with a fixed band?

Probably a good wipe with a wet cloth counts as "manufacturer refurbished" these days Smilie

I guess used underwear is next "popular" FP deal. Things people do for a couple of dollars !

If these were being sold by Sony I'd consider a refurb, but given the headband issues, I wouldn't trust a 3rd party refurb process to address that... otherwise decent price.

8% ebay bucks nets you another $14.40 back, if you're eligible.

I have these and I'm really happy with them. the headband hasn't broke yet, and I have a really big head. (Jack N Box looks like Beetle Juice next to me). Doesn't mean they won't break. I also have the 950's. I probably don't wear them as much as others? 5 hours a week? The sound is great. noise cancellation is also very nice. Just my thoughts.

It says it comes with manu warranty, but there is more details to that.
Your item may not come in original packaging. This item comes with the manufacturer warranty (see details in listing).

How do these compare for sound vs the Sony Extra Bass headphones? Noise cancelling isn't a huge priority for me right now.

I say better because of the noise cancelling, since its like being dropped into a empty quiet room with only your music to hear. You don't have to turn the music extremely high to hear it either.
