We bought these in a pinch at work. They're cheaper than our latitudes and the staff like them better

Is this good for a college student laptop? Most recent deals here seem to have slickdeals rebate and I'm trying to stay away from that.

haven't been able to get past the first page on any browser, also getting an error about changing anything because of technical difficulties

Saw that, probably they have updated the link. I am checking and will update in few minutes.

EDIT: Looks like SD's HTML formatting is screwing up the link. I am putting the URL within Quote (""). Please copy and paste that in the browser directly.

These are great laptops. For college they will work great but are a little heavy at 5+ pounds but the specs are awesome for the money.

I think so. But I have seen it and it is pretty good display. Horizontal Viewing angle is on par with IPS panels and Vertical angle is not so bad either.

Does anyone know if this has a 2nd RAM slot? Or would we have to buy 1 16GB RAM chip and remove the current 8GB one? Thanks

It has 2 Ram slots and both are accessible. Max Ram support is 32GB.

FYI: This is pretty much an i5 CPU...dual-core, hyperthreading.

What does it mean? Why it is an i5 CPU? Everybody knows that till 7th Generation, all U series Processors are Dual Core. The difference between i5 and i7 is clock speed and 1MB extra Cache (3MB to i5 and 4MB to i7).
