I don't understand why the TD? Even with the 7th Gen Core i7, XPS 13 costs around 1000 bucks. This is the latest model with Quad Core i7 which performs near to a 45W Quad Core i5-7300HQ. So don't down vote without understanding.

Why do these still come with DDR3? Dell is charging that much while other brands are putting in DDR4 and better SSDs and faster thunderbolts on their highest end laptops

Guys, don't confuse LPDDR3 with DDR3L SODIIM modules. XPS 13 Laptops have Ram soldered and never built for user upgrade. LPDDR3 is basically very low powered DDR3 module, even less than normal DDR3L. Also they run at 1866 MHz which is higher than standard DDR3L module while consuming a lot less power. But they have to be developed to be soldered directly to the motherboard....not like a conventional DDR3 or DDR4 ram.
That is the reason, they stick to LPDDR3 because no point of giving DDR4L slot which will consume more power but user is anyway won't be able to upgrade it, hence nullifying the benefit of having high capacity DDR4 modules. regarding LDRR4, they are not mainstream yet and costs a lot more.
real world performance difference, 1866 MHz LPDDR3 and 2133 MHz DDR4L, practically zero. And XPS is not the only on with LPDDR3, most of the slim Notebooks which don't support upgrade, come with LPDDR3 only, including high end Acer Swift and Spin series, Asus Zenbook UX390 series etc.

This is an amazing laptop. Exactly what I was looking for (XPS 13 with 8th gen)

I just wish it had the touch screen but it is still great.

Thanks for understanding people. Some people just down voted it because it is LPDDR3, without understanding what LPDDR3 is and Dell used it for extending battery life without sacrificing any real world memory performance. And they forgot that all XPS 13, till now use LPDDR3 memory even while DDR4 is here for last couple of years. But suddenly it becomes an issue to those idiots.

Not sure what you mean by that. I am running DDR4 SODIMM on my XPS 15 that I bought in end 2015. Just FYI..
