Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Complete Series DVD plus free shipping or store pick up thru app to save a extra $1. I would recommend doing the store pick up due to the way the manufacturer packaged the dvd's in the case. I bought mine else where and it took 3 different shipments to have a set with no disk getting scratched up bouncing around in transit.

Also Amazon is selling it for the same price.

This article [treknews.net] goes into good depth about how TOS and TNG got the blu-ray treatment, and why DS9 and Voyager probably never will get it.

Executive Summary: It would cost too much to put DS9 or Voyager on blu-ray.

Summary:
TOS was fairly simple; it was shot on 35mm film and mostly just needed to be digitized and cleaned up. Effects were done "the old fashioned way" on film as well.

TNG was shot on film, but nearly all of the effects were done (cheaper & faster) on video tape. (As were the VFX for DS9 & Voyager.) The end quality was lower, but you couldn't tell on a TV at the time. If you transfer the episodes to HD, the effects look terrible and fake.

Therefore, TNG had to be completely remastered. In addition to transferring and cleaning up the episodes, they re-created all of the visual effects with modern CGI. If you haven't seen TNG on blu-ray, it is gorgeous; they did an amazing job.

Unfortunately, TNG didn't sell very well on blu-ray and it cost a lot of money to do all that new work. Given that TNG was the most popular Trek series, that means DS9 and Voyager -- which will never sell as well as TNG -- don't have a snowball's chance in hell of being remastered for blu-ray.

Personally, I think Paramount/CBS should crowdfund the restoration, but apparently the studio execs have no interest. It's a huge shame. I tried to watch DS9 on Amazon streaming, but I stopped after a couple of episodes; the TNG blu-rays have completely spoiled me!

word is that might happen when the contract expires Frown

I wish they'd remaster these in 1080p DS9 is my favorite trek by a long-shot. Probably have watched every episode at least a dozen times, and don't even ask about how many times when referring to seasons 4-7 ... i don't know... enough to be able to recite the script as it plays out?

I still find some new nuances in the show every time I watch it. I'm still bitter there was no ds9-character movie. That show got me through middle/high school!

I think I'll scramble to buy this later, some day when I hear it's being pulled from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Like, if it ever becomes a CBS All-Access exclusive... Sick

Being a big DS9 fan you probably know this already, but they are HD-remastering select scenes for the DS9 documentary (What We Left Behind) because the indiegogo campaign was so successful. Probably as close as we'll ever get to HD DS9.

I love DS9. I always thought TNG and Voyager were the best Star Trek series until I saw DS9. The war story arc and excellent character development makes DS9 great.

I would wait for Blu-ray even if they could store more episodes per disc, and the 480p can somehow be upconverted to 4k.

Every 3.5 hours or so, your point? How often do you go pee or get a drink?

After the low turnout for Enterprise series (Blahccula)..NEW trek series will be a hard sell.. even if it were 4k and the acting was on point/writing good...

I don't know if it's still true, but when I was buying them, you could get the seasons way, way cheaper from Europe than the USA, and the discs were region free. (I got some from Amazon.co.uk on sale, some from eBay sellers.) I think that you can get the 1-7 set fairly cheap now though.

And I think I remember reading that Netflix added the remastered episodes back in November of 2015, for the streamers out there. The blus are obviously the highest quality option, but if you've got the Netflix subscription...
