I'm no computer expert, but this seems like a great deal. I could not find a better deal for what's included. Going to add some ram to this and it's good.

WARNING: Specs listed on Staples are most likely wrong. The model number UN65U-M022M is listed on Amazon, Newegg and a dozen other sites as being a barebones PC (no RAM, HDD/SSD or OS). Another massive hint is that the price is also roughly the same for the barebones model on all other sites.

Not saying you shouldn't take a chance on this, but expect there to be a high likelihood that you'll need to return it.

I say just go with a ASRock deskmini for any of these sff build. They are a lot more flexible than these NUC and not much larger. Even a G4560 is faster than this 7200u.

All good. Just wanted to make this clear from the start before SDers receive the wrong item, cry foul and threaten a class-action lawsuit. Wink

The deal is so good, that it is too good to be true? Do you think it is a slick deal if it is true?

Probably a translation error on Staples' part from the manufacturers' info, which outlines what the barebones unit can support, not what is actually included:
Quote :
Memory
4 GB Up to 32 GB
Dual Channel, DDR4 at 2133MHz
Storage
2.5" Up to 1TB Hard Drive
32GB Up to 256GB M.2 SSD

Since both drives sell for cheap, and they stated only 4gb(not 32gb), I hope Staples found a way to offer the specs vs it be a mistake. Maybe they put some of their overstocked drives inside.

come on OP, every justification of yours makes it look more and more like a listing mistake. start preparing for the return (or you could always grab some ram/ssd Smilie

I truly don't know. I could understand if the GPU or the amount of RAM seemed to good to be true. But Staples is not really a barebones seller and again, the SSD can be had for less than $100 and the 1tb drive for less than $50. So it's certainly not out of the question.

If this is the case, why the term Barebones not mentioned once in the description?

Staples does not modify the PCs they sell.

Search the model number UN65U-M022M and you'll see many sites don't specifically call it a "barebones" PC. This is typical for barebones desktops in general. Some retailers will mention outright that they are "barebones" and others will leave it at "no OS, HDD, RAM". Additionally, it's common for Staples PC product listings to have incorrect or incomplete information. Never use them as a specs reference if anything seems suspect. Hell, I've seen them write in processors that don't even exist on numerous occasions.

I guess I'll update when mines arrives. Not going to even try calling Staples, they probably don't know a damn thing.
