Anyone care to explain why they think this is a poor deal? I'm asking sincerely.

I've had this tablet for about six months now and wouldn't think twice about buying another at this price if I needed one. No other new tablet from a brand name manufacturer comes even close to matching the Trek 2's value. The closest would be the Amazon Fire HD 8, but this still has it beat with stock Android, more RAM, a faster processor, LTE and no Amazon ads. All that and Trek 2's price here $15 less.

If there are better suggestions for a tablet in this price range, please share.

The same tablet has been sold for cheaper by the same seller. The price is hiked up with the $15 coupon.

I realize that but the price won't be reaching that point again for a while, if ever. I get the feeling people are overlooking that: #1 The only time it was $50 and significantly cheaper was six months ago in March, #2 When it was $50, it hit that with a one time 20% off coupon that has never appeared again, #3 The value of a sale item should always be compared to current prices on similar items in the market. At $65, nothing besides the Fire HD 8 even comes close and it's been this way for a very, very long time.

Use this tablet on the regular with a freedom pop sim. Works Great! I don't game with it and have experienced no lag. Bought it for use with my drone and have ended up using/liking it much more then I thought!

Although it has been cheaper, if you need a good cheap tablet, this is it!

One con is bootloader is locked and no root.... but it is an unlocked 4g lte device with 720p screen, so it does have that going for it

It's unfortunate about the bootloader, but I'm stunned ZTE took the to actually update this to 7.1.1. The fact that it's now running Nougat is another huge positive for this device.

The last time this was on sale it's was $63 back at the end of June. That received lots of positive attention. Now a few months later, at a measly $2 more, it's getting almost nothing but negativity. I guess I'll never understand the mob logic behind this site.

I bought mine at ~$65 before any coupon. It seemed the sellers raised the price to pocket this 15/75 coupon for themselves.

What's the cheapest way to get an active ATT sim without having to beg someone for theirs?

It's been $80 before the coupon for a while now. All you have to do is click on the sales history. No one raised prices.

$1 directly from AT&T for a prepaid SIM. I can't post the instructions right now, but I as well as others, have done this plenty of times to update AT&T phones and this very tablet.

eBay, search for GoPhone ATT sim, Nano, must be nano size.
Buy unactivated sim, you can activate for free and it's good for twenty some days.
Some people have reported not to even have activated sim and it still works to update tablet. (YMMV).

Just took a look at it. Good news, SIMs are actually free right now.

Go here - https://www.att.com/cellphones/pr...sku7420309, add the SIM to your cart and enter your IMEI (or any known IMEI), choose the 25 cent per min plan and checkout with free shipping. When you receive the SIM it will have an active number already, you won't need to activate the plan or provide billing/credit card info. Just having the active number alone is enough to receive AT&Ts OTA updates. I've done this myself in the past and it works without issue. Going to grab another SIM right now for the 7.1.1 update.

I agree with you 100%. I purchased one of these back in March for $50 and I liked it so much that I bought another one in June for $75 for my daughter to replace her really slow Amazon Fire tablet. Even at $75 it's a good deal IMO and for the current price of $65 it's a steal. The $50 price seems to have been a one time thing. There really is nothing comparable in this price range and the key part of this is that it has 2GB's of RAM. Like you said maybe one of the Amazon tablets but their version of Android is annoying.

Hmm, I have not gotten Nougat for mine or my daughters. How long ago did you get that push update?
