LG G5 H830T 32GB T-Mobile 4G LTE Android Smartphone (New other) [ebay.com]

Condition:
New other (see details): A new, unused item with absolutely no signs of wear. The item may be missing the original packaging, or in the original packaging but not sealed. The item may be a factory second or a new, unused item with defects. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.

Lock Status: Network Unlocked

NOTE1: Phone's seal was opened and resealed for unlocking purposes

NOTE2: Android pay might not work. Sim card not included.

Seems like the seller flashed custom rom to unlock it. From the previous threads looks like it is possible to restore to stock rom to get warranty and official updates, but will lose the unlock.

This is actually a pretty good price...
If the price had dropped yesterday with the coupon, I probably would've picked this up.

It sounds like more likely than not, this will be the same at the same as the phone here: https://slickdeals.net/f/10327428-price-dropped-to-200-new-lg-g5-h830t-32gb-t-mobile-gsm-unlocked-4g-lte-smartphone-silver-200-fs-ebay?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

Even with the known issues (and rather easy fix for T-Mobile users), this still is a good deal, as long as you know what you're getting. I don't think you'll find a comparable phone with these specs for a better price. I'm sure the never LG/boot loop crowd will be by soon.

Combined with $15 off code would be better.

Bought one for $220 early August and immediately flashed the oem rom. Wish I would've waited ☹️.

Was it easy or hard?

OEM rom completely frees up all the antenna LTE Bands for use on any network?

Any word on the G5 getting Oreo?

I'm waiting on the V20 but with G4 and G5 you want a factory warranty....and a good extended warranty if you plan on keeping it.

It was easy for me. I just followed instructions on XDA, link below. Warning, you will lose SIM unlock if you flash the OEM rom. No clue on your last two questions but I'd be surprised if it got Oreo officially.

Oh shit, thanks for the heads up on that.

I might have to pass on the device if I can't update it...

It's confusing but I think I the long and short is you'll be fine with any GSM carrier : T-Mobile, ATT, or any of their MVNO's. Not for Sprint or Verizon. Who cares about PAY. Not me.
Also I don't care if opened box personally as long as it's unused.
Edit: Don't worry about flashing rom either. What they're saying is IF you are on TMobile you will be able to bring the phone back to stock ( as if you bought from T-Mobile store). But you don't have to do this.

Kind of torn here. I was able to score a new/demo TMobile Note 5 from a previous Slickdeals ($215) and it was Brand New/sealed. Because it was a demo there is no warranty.

Would any of you switch to this G5 and sell the note 5 (potentially making a fair profit)?
