I'm looking to replace a R9 290X but not sure if this is actually a good deal, since it appears to have the a stockish blower fan cooler and no back plate. Plus with rumors of the 1070 Ti supposed to hit later this month. I'm thinking this should be cheaper. Thoughts?

1070 ti out within a month- close to 1080 status but cheaper price, im holding off for it. Im pretty sure if the 1070 ti is priced in the low 400s, the 1070 and 1080 will drop in price at least a little bit

I'm in the same boat, looking to replace my Asus R9 290x & was waiting on Vega but I think I'm going to wait on another 1080Ti deal & switch to the Green Team...

Is that when the 2080s will hit? Or is that still q1 2018?

Volta probably won't be out til q1 or Q2 2018.

Rumor is that 1070ti will release soon and be close to the 1080 but priced closer to $400.

I for one like reference cards because they vent the hot air out of the case. Wish aftermarket could do something similar...

I literally just got a 1050 TI last week and it's doing fine with the one game I'm playing - Mass Effect Andromeda . It hangs out around 80% utilization while I'm playing according to MSI Afterburner ( rivatuner stats ) .

At what point do you decide that it's time to upgrade your GPU?

Depends on the coin. For ZEC yes, ETH is about the same as a 1070

Not a big fan of blower fan type. Had gtx 970 founder edition and it was a big mistake. So lound like starting up a car engine. I feel bad how hard that fan is working. Waiting for gtx 1080 hopefully around $400 during black friday.
