While I don't have this exact unit, I have three other ones that do the same thing as this. They work great as long as the wifi you want to repeat does not have a user authorization splash page. My repeaters will connect but they don't now how to handle the splash page so authorization is never given to the connection. Most hotels and other free wifi hotspots use splash pages, which renders this useless as a repeater for internet at those locations. All other cases, they work great.

Looking at the Amazon reviews,the above router can log into hotel splash screens. You have to log into the device and use that first apparently. Search reviews for "log"

Hopefully your devices have a similar feature. Otherwise I agree, they would be pointless at most hotels
