Wonder how this compares to the Samsung CF791, pretty much $150 more for G-Sync.

I've heard the Samsung has some flickering issues but it's still decent overall. Gamer Nexus did a write up on the Samsung one you speak of.

Samsung is a VA, this one is IPS. Pros and Cons to both and likely a long read for you if you are not familiar with either technology. Bottom line is IPS seems to be most preferred and the ACER is an older monitor but lacking any issues because it has been patched up from the mess that it was at release. I have the Acer and you just can't go wrong with it for gaming and for your average productivity tasks especially if you have an nvidia card.

Yeah that was my concern with these Acer monitors since I see that every other person seems to have QA issues (same deal with Samsung though on early launch) - Samsung's VA panels seem to be pretty top shlef but their angles aren't going to touch IPS (especially with the curvature) I'm going to see how Samsung's warranty compares - Apparently with Acer you've got to pay for outbound shipping.

Z35P on Newegg for same price as well. Different panel, same specs.

I personally own the X34" and love it. I got it from acerrefurb for 7xx.xx and added a 4 yr warranty. It does have some backlight bleed in the corners but they kinda all do that.

Besides that it's flawless, runs at 100hz oced, gsync via my 2x gtx1080 on ski. Be sure you have a PC to push it bc with max settings on games, your GPUs will be pushed to the limits to keep this at 100hz and high fps.
