What happens if you were to use the 50 gallon trash can as your regular weekly trash can if your current trash can is of a smaller size? Would you get charged more automatically? Or would they not take it at all since it's not their waste management trash can?

This depends entirely on your municipality, and for that matter your HOA if there is one.

Near me you can use whatever, they're just happy your trash is in a container. Other places they charge for volume, and other places they need a specific container to fit the vehicle.

Bought a 50 gallon last year, very light weight. Don't expect to last long time. OK for light use. Handle is useless to pull any weight more than fall leaves.

I had $10 in surprise points, so was able to get the 35 gallon for free and for pickup at my regular store. I needed a new one badly too. Thanks OP!

This one isn't listed. I've owned it for 3 years and can't believe how durable it's been. And the twist cap is helpful for animals that like to get into the can. Bought another.

They will charge you for the larger size. The trash man is not going too go to every trash can and see if it is full or not to charge you appropriately. I tried this because I hated not having my lid close when I filled it up. I figured why not just get a larger one for a little more room. I got charge extra. The customer service lady was like how to we l is if you've gone over your limit if you have a larger trash can.

You don't know that applies to him so don't give false information just because it applies to you. Where I am you can use anything just as the above poster said they just want it in some sort of container and be a reasonable weight. Now if you take that 50 gallon and fill it with rocks then sure you might get charged but more likey, as what happens in my area, they will just leave it.

If only there was still one of these stores open close to me. All 3 within 75 miles closed in the last year, but good deal for those who have access!
