This is actually a pretty good deal, wish I'd have waited before piecing together my own set.

I bought the dual charger and two 4.0ah batteries on Ebay for about $144 total.

When you factor in the 5.0ah batteries in this bundle it's kind of like getting a couple drills at ~$65 each. And I'm actually debating whether I should jump on this and deal with the hassle of craigslisting the other kit I bought that I haven't even opened yet...

On a side note, Amazon does a terrible job of listing out qualifying items for their promos. Their link takes me to a random list of items 75% of which clearly aren't part of this promo.

The XPH12Z hammer drill and XFD12Z non hammering drill are two tools I've found that qualify.

XPH07Z does not, XDT12Z does not. Seems to be mostly limited to tools in the under $100 range.

here is the link that goes to the items, it was well hidden:

and then you have to go to the 2nd tab.

in for one with the subcompacts. probably going to pick up an impact wrench from makita in the near future, so this will be a good start where i'll only need to buy the tool.

this deal is also a few bucks better than the current toolbarn deal (for me, in MA we have 6.25% sales tax)

Just an OK deal since the bare tools are limited. Just drill, impact. No brushless saws, oscillating tool. Holidays sale at HD is coming up, where you can get (5) tools for $399 (or if you wait after the holidays, even $349, $299 for 5 tools in clearance). Last year I got a (3) tools kits, brushless hammer drills, brushless impact and brushless reciprocating saw, oscillating tool, circular saw for $349, with (2) 4 AH batteries. The (5) AH batteries are great for the saws but are PITA heavy for drills and impacts.

I posted this a couple weeks ago when it was $252 on Amazon. Here is a link you can use to see qualified tools for the promo.

I have these new 5.0 batts w the meter. They actually weigh a hair less than the old 3.0 Ah batteries -- about 9oz more than the 2.0 slim batteries the subcompact combo kit comes with. Which is to say - The extra weight and balance isn't bad. I've used them pretty hard. On a brushless drill, the 90 watt hours gives insane runtime. It's rare I would use more than a full charge in an 8 hr day.

The xss02 is a great circ saw btw. So easy to follow a line freehand for clean straight cuts and easy to dial angles. Plenty of power. I'm waiting for a deal on the xsh03 brushless, but it's nearly the same saw in terms of haptics.

Thanks, saw that and went ahead and ordered a set. 5% Discover card cashback, $10 Discover default payment promo, and $10 promo from the Amazon Music trial put this into my price range. I'll just flip my other kit on Craigslist.
