Cool Stand alone Minecraft software self contained on the band. However, it doesn't have any form of connectivity except physically plugging into the machine that you want to play minecraft on. This was a cool idea that ended up being really too complex for the children it was focused at.

I was going to ask if this even still works? Doesn't look like it was supported by many.

Read the product description; this doesn't even come with Minecraft, it's an expensive flash drive.

This definitely comes with minecraft. I own the band. My daughter did not use it. Far too complicated with almost no utility. This is specifically for kids who play minecraft on the pc and do not have an easy way to host or share with their friends. A very rare use case.

of course it still works. It runs its own linux server distro directly on the drive. A lot of people on here have no idea what this is even is. Which explains completely why it was a total failure.

Don't disagree with your conclusion, but this most definitely does not come with (specifically) a minecraft license. If you don't already own the game, you're left hanging until you do.

From the first link in a google search: [levelskip.com]

"Gameband + Minecraft does NOT include a Minecraft game license; if you do not already own one, you must purchase that separately from Minecraft.net."

So you're definitely right that it was for kids who already play/own the game. I remember looking at these last year thinking it might be a cheap way to get the license but the product box itself clearly states there's no license included.
