Groove Music is excited to announce that, beginning today, we're partnering with Spotify to bring the world's largest music streaming service to you, our valued Groove Music Pass customer. We know that access to the best music streaming service, the largest catalog of music, and a variety of subscriptions are on top of your list. When the new update to the Groove app becomes available in mid-October, you'll be able to move your personal playlists and music collection from Groove directly into Spotify*.
After December 31, 2017, Groove Music Pass streaming service will be discontinued**. You can keep your music intact by transferring your personal playlists and tracks to Spotify. Plus, you may be eligible for a 60-day free trial of Spotify Premium. We'll continue to update the Groove Music app on all Windows devices so you can play the music you've purchased or uploaded to your PC or OneDrive. But the app will no longer stream Groove Music Pass content.
Transition your music with just a few clicks:
1. Launch the latest Groove app. From your Windows 10 PC or Xbox One, download the latest Groove app update from the Windows Store, open it, and sign in. Once you're signed in to your account, you'll see a pop-up window from Spotify with instructions on how to sign in or create a Spotify account.
2. Sign in to Spotify.
a. If you already have a Spotify account, you'll see a prompt to enter your username and password.
b. If you're new to Spotify, you'll be asked a few basic questions to create an account.
3. We move your music. After signing into your Spotify account, we'll move your Groove Music Pass collection and playlists from Groove Music to Spotify.
4. Play music in Spotify. Moving your music to your Spotify account will take a few minutes. Then you'll be able to enjoy your Groove library in the Spotify app!
We thank you for supporting Groove Music. For more information about Groove and Spotify, including whether you may be eligible for a 60-day free trial of Spotify Premium, check out our FAQ.
