Seems to be a warm deal, considering it's not quite new.

Walmart shows it for $216, and CCC shows that AZ had it last year for $191.

I suppose if you absolutely have to have this exact model, it's a good deal.

Am I the only one somewhat worried by it being almost new (arguable warranty coverage) and the 20% 1 star ratings saying quite frequently that the unit died before a year was out, the unit gave firmware problems with windows 10m and the unit gave performance problems with older equip ? Love the idea of the coverage, but I'm going to pass I think and keep limping through with my 1200ac tp-link and extender in the far part of the house.

Decent price if this was the year it was released, but not so much now with the issues reported blah Frown

Thanks. I had been waiting for a deal on this particular router. At this price, I'm willing to give a used-like new one a shot.

I bought this router a month ago and can echo the problems above. The largest problem being that the wireless radios would randomly shut off. I would stay away. Personally waiting for more stable AC WAVE2.

This looks dope. My 7 year old Apple airport base station is still going strong but weak signal outside of 30+ feet with all the other signals. I have 100mbit internet. Is this worth it or overkill

Does the Merlin firmware make any difference?

I suggest checking out the forums for this router. I have this router and have issues. For some reason it KILLS my internet speed. I'm on a 300Mb plan and this router from some reason drops my speed to 1Mb - 6Mb for no reason. I'm looking for a better router.

This router is obviously not made for an average user.

Flash merlin, or go home. If merlin gives you wifi issues, then either you RMA or return the device.

Thanks!

This is the best router you can buy. Period.
I've installed a dozen of them in customers homes.
Been waiting on a really good deal for my own personal use.
The 8 ports put this router in a class of its own.

I'm an IT/Electrical Contractor.
Ty for heads up, I'm using ac1900 from ASUS and it's still going strong with 200mb speed from comcast Smilie

I loved this router!!! But only when it was working. It would crash often, requiring you to unplug it from the wall. The Wi-Fi would drop often as well. Lots of potential, though, with nice features.
