This part is so old that it should have a birthday party. The first review was over 10 years ago (9/12/2007)! Ha ha

At least this P65 warning explains the reasoning.
Quote :
Products with exposed solder may contain lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects and other reproductive harm. Please wash hands after handling internal components and motherboards and avoid inhalation of fumes if heating the solder. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Would this provide an internal USB to run a OS on a stick?

There are use cases to run OSes and other software off USB flash drives. Internal eliminates someone unplugging the flash drive. It's perhaps less of an issue these days with more compact flash drives that don't stick out as much.

It's amazing they still sell this. I wonder if they still sell 10 Mbs Ethernet cards with BNC connectors or 40 MB MFM or RLL hard drives too. Anyone remember those? Ha.

Good question I cannot answer. Another question is why would someone as experienced and cool as this OP post a USB 2.0 card deal? Shirley he must know USB 2.0 is not going to be popular among the SD crowd.

Totally agree. It was fine when 2.0 is all we had, but the speed difference between 2.0 and 3.0 is so great that unless you don't mind backing up a 1 TB HD to an external HD taking days instead of a couple hours I can't comprehend anyone wanting this even for free. I Shirley don't. (Stop calling me Shirley!)
