My car has no Bluetooth but has separate AUX port. I have iPhone 8. Can I use this with Aux cable to play music from my iPhone to my car stereo and charge my iPhone at same time ? My charging port and AUX port are separate

It's dumb that we need this, but unlike the cheapo options on Amazon this one actually works for charging + headphones, so thumbs up!

Wish Apple would just put the damned headphone jack back into all of the iPhones. Now that nonsense is bleeding over to Android phones. Guess Google isn't Apple fanboy! lol

Oh well, I guess this is a "good deal" for the dongle life.

This is essentially a lightning splitter so if you need a 3.5 jack, this isn't going to help you. If your aux is usb you still wouldn't need this because it should also charge your phone.

People love to hate but you're talking an antiquated technology. Everything is going wireless.

Okay what do you recommend then? My aux port in my car is regular Aux port not USB and I have Aux cable. Right now if I want to play music from my iPhone phone to my car via AUX, I have the use the AUX cable with the dongle or whatever it is called that comes with the iPhone and I can't charge the phone at same time

this will work, you just need to keep using the 3.5mm to lightning dongle in addition to this. otherwise the 3.5mm+lightning charge rockstar is $35.

I bought this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 but it rarely ever works. sometimes doesn't charge my iphone while playing music and sometimes the music sound quality is very poor. I use this with the AUX cable

I always hear that argument but why can't we have both until it's not used anymore?

Just because something is old, doesn't mean it's not useful. The ubiquity of the 3.5mm jack is still a factor. I like Bluetooth audio for the most part but it's nice to have the option.

3.5 takes up too much real estate in this market. It's the thickest part of legacy iPhones. It's also a deep footprint so it voids a lot of internal space.

I would personally get a small 3.5mm Bluetooth receiver. Dongles on dongles doesn't work for me.

I'm sure those clever engineers can figure it out, given that this happened with the iPhone 7:
http://www.popularmechanics.com/t...hone-jack/

Also, not once have I heard someone say they wanted a thinner phone (with a smaller battery) anyway; at least not anytime recently after, say, the iPhone 5 thickness level. There's still a lot of demand for the standard headphone jack as it stands.

Samsung and LG are some the last holdouts to not offer at least some phones w/o it since even Google's sucking on Apple's D these days. I'm not convinced $700 Android phones have the sway to not piss off users that demand functionality that is more common with the associated user base.

Well the Belkin is the one sold in apple stores and is mfi certified so I would hope it works consistently
