I got this last time it was free, it's pretty nice. Keep in mind it doesn't auto connect to your pc UNTIL you press the side button. Many reviewers already mention that, but just a reminder if that's a deal breaker for ya.

Lol sometimes I plug it in, stare at the screen for a while, only to realize I forgot to press the button =D

FYI, it has an AS2115 controller. Unlike some of the other FAR enclosures offered it did not spin-down the same test drive.

It's only 1 rebate per household meaning you can only submit one rebate for the product. You can buy 3 but you will only get 1 rebate in the amount of $10 back.

So what does that mean?

It means the spinner drive I tested would accumulate many more power-on hours of wear. Fewer stop/starts is a plus I suppose.

So which chipsets are good and which ones are bad? Is there a source somewhere with this info?

The controller info was just a FYI point. I can't say if it is due to that particular controller or the general circuit design of this thing. Don't know where to look for it but I got the same results when attached to a PC and router USB ports. Since I use the router for a backup drive I really didn't want it running 24/7 and swapped a few enclosures. This enclosure was the one that gave me issues.

Wonder if that could possibly be remedied with a bios update or similar maintenance.
