Not terrible. A chromecast or roku connected to this is better than most crappy smart interfaces anyway.

Definitely go see this tv in person before buying. For kids play room, buy online. For your use ... spend a bit more. This tv is few settings & I couldn't adjust it to my liking.

Why? In most cases, an external box is much better than built-in smart features. That being, said, I don't think $250 for a 'plain' non 4k TV is a good price either.

I'm saying for the cost...the price of a Roku would've been included...now you'd need to spend another what...$40-$60 bucks..not sure how much Roku players cost...

Looking to replace my dying 9 year old Samsung 1080 HDTV, preferably under $350.

I'm eyeing the 49" TCL at Costco, which is 4K, HDR, all that jazz. However this is $100 cheaper and we already have streaming devices.

Is this a bad deal considering Black Friday is around the corner, or is this about as good as a 49" 1080P non-smart brand-name TV is going to get?

If this was $200 I'd be all over this. BF is around the corner, TVs to be had for around that price in 45-50" range.

I think this is the black Friday tv from BB from 2015 for $150. I like mine, albeit I don't watch a whole lot of TV. It's not 4k quality of course, but it's got a good picture and sound. Also to note, "Toshiba" tv's were bought out a few years ago and this is made for BB.
