I bought this set a few months ago and have enjoyed using it. I have a thick beard, and the Prime blades do a great job cutting right through that. I shave for the weekdays and grow over the weekend, so Monday morning was always painful with cartridge razors. This Prime set makes Monday a little nicer. I used it exclusively for a few months, but have moved back to using cartridge blades unless I have at least a few day's growth.

All in all, great deal for entry-level safety razor. Don't expect more than entry-level though.

Would something like this work for a woman for shaving her legs? Asking for myself.
I've read these last longer than disposables/carts and are lower cost for blades, but are a different technique that takes some getting used to and must condition/lather when using?

I use the Dorco Shai's and Pace's right now for legs, and other areas, not too sure I wouldn't nick tender flesh trying to do my underarms, etc.

YES! But it's an easy 10% extra skill to pick up. You hold it with the blade at 30 degree's and never drag it pushing like cartridges. That's all. Way worth it! Not only in extreme cost saving; but better shaves with almost no clogging, easy flick off, blades last about 4 TOUGH shaves and less irritation. As little as 8 cents a (two sided) DE blade and you can pop in a new every single time. Try many blades (they're cheap) so you can find one just sharp enough for you (eliminates drag or tugging). Any mild holder will work well; but if you need closer then (later) get a slight larger gap holder (after acclimating a while like with any new shave method).

Be patient. Shave ONLY for zero errors of any kind. Let the perfect baby smoothness come naturally over many shaves. Don't force it. Angle up less aggressively close (use you gap range) on any trouble spots. You are now in control and can go closer where it's required and not so close where it might also be in another region (I don't mean privates. That's best trimmer only. Best wishes.

Long handle DE holders are popular with leg shavers. Even in color and other decor. A simple chrome long-handle butterfly (Turn To Open) will last forever. However simple three piece designs let you mix and match handles.

I'm not sure if this one is a beefy in design as some I have seen. Look at the ones on the "Italian Barber "site to compare. Always watch out for cheap misaligned knock offs. Check blade alignment and that it's automatic. No blemishes on the bar up close.
